Biography of Steve Maurer

Steve Maurer joined the Introtech staff in September of 2010 after retiring from a 22 year career with the Lorain County Joint Vocational School in Oberlin Ohio. He brings a varied work experience background to Introtech.  Steve started his career in law enforcement with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department in 1977. He attended basic police school at Case Western Reserve in the fall of 1977. While at the Sheriff’s department he served in different capacities including supervising road patrol deputies, shift supervisor, and working with the communications and corrections division. Steve was promoted to the rank of Sergeant n the road patrol division in 1984. He has experience in crime prevention, road patrol, criminal investigations, and basic accident investigation.  While working as a police officer Steve attended numerous schools and training in accident investigation, school safety, interviewing, to name a few.

Steve left the Sheriff’s Department in 1988 as a Sgt. in order to pursue a career in education at the Lorain County Joint Vocational school. While at the JVS he started the Criminal Justice program for junior and senior high school students from Lorain county school districts. During his 11 years in the classroom Steve went back to school and obtained his vocational teaching certificate from Kent State University and his master’s degree from Ashland University in supervision.  He then became a supervisor at the JVS and was in charge of 15 instructors along with budgeting and evaluating instructors. While working for the JVS Steve continued to work as a part time officer for the villages of Grafton Ohio and Wellington Ohio.

Steve is an investigator for Introtech.  He performs a variety of functions assisting the reconstruction personnel with scene work and other duties as needed.
